Remember, my friend
When our world had an endless horizon
Our boundaries were laid
Where our general's aide set his eyes on
America spreads her wings
And captures such wonderful things
And a patriot's duty's
To travel the land of the free
The steamer did hurry us
In a luxurious manner
To tropical gems
That bespangled the hems of our banner
And reaching the virgin shores
We sought out the restaurant and storеs
And after the luau
I sailed with you out to sеa
The waiters were grateful
To serve us each plate full of pūpū
They chanted "wawau"
Which means, on Oahu, "we love you"
A girl said a lei was ours
But gave us some wreath made of flowers
The natives of Sandwich
Were weak on their language-to-be
Then out on the beach
Did we dance the maxixe and the tango
The bottles we'd strewn
Were lit up by a moon like a mango
The rest of the pig we'd tried
We tossed in the glistening tide
And after the luau
I sailed with you out to sea
On deck at the mixer
We sipped an elixir ambrosian
And lay in a hammock
To view the volcanic explosion
The lava engulfed our isle
But memories still bring a smile
As after the luau
I sailed with you out to sea
