In a search for the truth of all that is perceived
We draw from a well of debased faculties
Diminutive agents that love to mislead
Refusing to consort with our frail sanity
Isolate the mind and cast off the reins
And use the eyes only to reveal what they feign
The iron bars craft a great catastrophe
Plunging the mind into total anarchy
Irrational behavior built upon the past
Forces memories that seldom ever last
A slave to empirical ways
Engulfed by uncertainty, we stand alone
Spiraling down into regions unknown
The abyss swallows all, and reason is dethroned
The noumenon eludes us, never to appear
Unknown to the senses and propagating fear
Though true reality is not within our grasp
This mere realization dissolves the illusions cast
Warring with the senses, reason prevails
And experience is reduced to a veil
