From my celestial observatory I gaze
Upon a cold and dying world
A world once ripe with innocence
Now torn apart by ignorance
When all began, fire graced the sky
Casting a light met with harsh reply
Swallowed by darkness, all was enslaved
As marks of war were forever engraved
A failing design
Blood of the divine
Could not be foreseen by my immaculacy
With no light to shine
Opposing forces entwine
Forever silencing the sound of harmony
An innocent race of men is bereft
Of its serenity and forced to accept
Perpetual war between darkness and light
Afflicting them all with incurable blight
A maelstrom unfolds in a quest for power
Supremacy in every form is sent to devour
Social, political, religious or racial
Regardless of the case, my creation grows pale
The raining debris of a world so cold
Confounds its leaders as its souls are sold
The belligerent fight, and the pacifists pray
But neither one keeps conflict at bay
Now I bare witness to the changing of seasons
An endless cycle without rhyme or reason
Fortune's departure follows its arrival
And humanity remains in denial
