"First Rodeo" is kind of the first love song that I wrote for this album
I don't tradtitionally write a lot of love songs
I, I really love, I love writing sad songs and heartbreak
I think it's easier to tap into those emotions, but
"Rodeo" I think was really special to me because
It was acknowledging the last chapter of my life, it was like
Listen, I love love so much, like, I am a relationship girlie
And, um, this song just says, you know
"I, I was on the horse and I rode off into the sunset
And it didn't work out and then I fell off the horse and so, like
Yeah, I'm a little dusty and, yeah, like my jeans have some rips in 'em now
But, like, I love love and I'd love to get back on the horse
If, if, like, if you'll just take it slow with me, like, be patient with me
I have to, like, I have to shake this off still"
Like, "Will you help me?" basically, um
And it, it's just such an honest song for where I was at at that point
Of, of really hopeful and really eager to just fully fall back in love
But being timid as you are after, after, you know, heartbreak
