Why hold on to the edge for longer than I have to?
You feet crushing my hands aren't helping my decisions
It's only 500 feet to the bottom
You have pushed me off of higher cliffs
But I think that I'll be fine
Cause I'm loosening my grip, just to see if you extend your hand
I thought I'd be used to these falls by now
But the lump in my throat grows as I hold back these tears
(Please girl, don't let me fall)
Don't let me fall
These thoughts are the hardest to explain
But my freedom only lasts a few seconds
But it's long enough to get a glimpse of you crying
Why are you crying?
So crush my hand just a little harder
And help me loose my grip
And I'll thank you at the bottom
My bones break with each touch of the ground
And the grass soaks up my blood
So just sit and watch me put myself back together again
Cause even still this heart beats for you
And the blood drips into my eyes
(Blurs my climb)
And I'll crawl right back to the top
Just to fall again
Thank you for this sudden impact
