Relentlessly scouring the earth
Through manifold tumultuous tides
In a quest for purity and truth
Across the seas and oceans wide
A quantum leap into depths unknown
O’ sophia, light my way home!
Through desperate waters I would swim
To attain your enchanted shores
The inlet to my soul is barred
But distance doesn’t bleach the lore!
I must be treading in circles!
Spinning in a zealous maelstrom
Rushing only to reach little
My wasted body now drifts on
And limbs heavy with despair float
I won’t give up on light and hope
Anguished wails of frustration
Saline tears shed into the brine
Swaying waves of desolation
My life’s fluid draining into thine
These memories won’t fade away
Shadows of an undying wraith
But this chore is a lifetime blame
For I am blessed
With the curse of light
Shining over like furious floods!
Relentlessly scouring the earth…
