Sounds of Silence
Hello darkness, my old friend,
I came to talk to you again.
Because a vision softly creeping
Left its seeds while I was sleeping.
And the vision that was planted in my brain
Still remains within the sounds of silence.
In restless dreams I walked alone
By narrow cobblestone streets,
Beneath the halo of a luminaire
I got the neck (of garment) to cold and moisture
When my eyes were stabbed
For the flash of neon light that shatters the night
And caressing the sounds of silence.
And in the naked light I saw
Ten thousand people, maybe more.
People talking without speaking,
People hearing without listening.
People writing songs that voices never share
And no one dared disturb the sound of silence.
'Fools,' said, 'I do not know
That silence is like a cancer growth.
Hear my words that could teach,
Take my arms that could reach them. "
But my words like silent raindrops fell,
E echoed in the wells of silence.
And the people bowed and prayed
When the neon god they created.
And lit the warning sign
With the words that were forming.
And the posters were saying that the words of the prophets
They are written on subway walls and tenements.
And whispered in the sounds of silence.
